This is an example of some ideas that could be reviewed as potential recommendations for patients who fail the Max Pulse Arterial Test. This list should not be used for treatment of actual patients but patients should be given unique treatment programs as determined by qualified medical professionals. This list does not represent a complete statement of treatments possible or available. Practitioners must make their own treatment determinations. Long Life Cardio does not recommend any particular treatment program but offers this list as suggestions for a practitioner to examine. Where a patient or client fails the Max Pulse arterial test we recommend referral to a cardiologist.
Type 1-3 is a passing score.
Patient should be encouraged to continue or adopt healthy lifestyle choices that will preserve his or her current arterial score. Note that Type 3, while a passing grade, is a particular case and the training video should be studied for a deeper understanding of this score – https://longlifecardio.com/max-pulse-training-videos/
Type 4 Arterial Heath Score- Test Failed. First Stage of Arterial Hardening
- Stop Smoking
- Reduce Alcohol Consumption
- Start Daily Exercise (If the patient has a sedentary work situation have them also arrange to get up and move around every 30 min to 2 hours)
- Move to a Healthier Diet. The Mediterranean diet is a good choice. Reduce fast foods and sugars.
- Lose Weight.
- Recommend Nutritional Supplements as Determined by Practitioner. (Some studies suggest using supplements that include L-Arginine, Nitric Oxide or Red Beet Powder). Ensure the patient understands that nutritional supplements cannot replace steps 1-5 above.
- Check Blood Pressure and Lipids and recommend standard medical treatments for anything found.
Type 5 Arterial Health Score – Test Failed. First Stage of Congestive Heart Failure. Heart is Weakening.
- All the of the recommendations for Type 4 apply, but exercise must be gentle and supervised because Type 5 suggests a weakened heart.
- Any testing recommended by a medical doctor to search for factors that may be causing a weakened heartbeat (there are a wide range of factors that can cause a weakened heart, which a medical doctor will be familiar with).
- Refer to a cardiologist, requesting testing for congestive heart failure (weak heart beat, low pulse strength)
Type 6 Arterial Health Score- Test Failed. Severe Arterial Hardening. Immediate Action Recommended.
- All the same steps as Type 4, except that everything should be stricter except for exercise. Exercise should be very mild and closely supervised. Patient should be warned that exercise must be light and not to over-exert themselves. Type 6 or 7 should be considered to be at imminent risk of a cardio event.
- Refer to a cardiologist who should be asked to check for arteriosclerosis and blockages. Cardiologist referral is urgent.
Type 7 Arterial Score
This score is almost never seen because Type 7’s are normally too sick to visit primary care physicians. If you see a Type 7 score then Cardiologist referral is critically urgent.
